Event description

Description

The Friends of the South End Portsmouth Fairy House Tour--the world's largest fairy house tour--takes place each fall in the historic South End Neighborhood of Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Visitors can look forward to seeing more than 250 fairy houses on display on the grounds of Strawbery Banke, the Governor John Langdon House, and in Prescott Park.

Tracy Kane, the award-winning author and illustrator of the Fairy Houses Series® of books, which popularized fairy house building worldwide, will be on hand both days to greet fairy fans and sign books.

Excepts from "Fairy Houses--the Ballet" will be performed both days on the Prescott Park Arts Festival Stage and the NH Theatre Project will stage performances in the Langdon grove.

The Tour is a produced by Friends of the South End with the assistance of Canoe Harbor Consulting and all proceeds benefit the South End organizations, Portsmouth schools, and local community groups who make the Portsmouth Fairy House Tour possible.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to construction on Peirce Island, only limited parking will be available at that location. Attendees are encouraged to carpool, walk, or bike to the event when possible and to find other locations in town to park.

Pre-paid ticket holders may pick up their wrist bands and tour maps at any of the following points of entry: Governor John Langdon House on Pleasant Street, at Strawbery Banke at Marcy Street, Hancock Street or Atkinson Streets or at the Prescott Park Arts Festival merchandise booth.
