Event description

Welcome to the fourth edition of the Oklahoma Dirt Trail Series. We are promoting trail running, non-pavement runs, trailz that get your shoes dirty. TZ Trail Runs, with contributions from RunnersWorld-Tulsa and TATUR, have created a series of several trail races mostly in NE Oklahoma. Someone may very well jump on board and run each and every one--and there will be awards for such foolishness. A point system (described below) will be used to form a fierce competition between trail friends and like-minded contestants. The list below is most of the trail runs in Oklahoma—and from all over the state. Scroll through the list of races posted and see how many of these are already in your crosshairs anyway.

Sign up and run as few or as many as you like. For the first run on the list that you complete, you are awarded 5 points. The next race you complete, you are awarded 10 points. The next—15 points. If you run 10 of the races, you get 50 points for that 10th race. The more races you complete, the bigger the points get for each finish. Even if you finish LAST, you get your points. (I might add that the party surrounding the last group in one of our trail races is usually pretty festive. Being last is a good place to be.) If you skip a race—no biggie. The next race you enter and finish gets you 5 additional progressive points. Early Starters who finish are allowed but do not qualify for top 10 bonus points.

Bonus points. Finish in the top 10 in any of the races, you are awarded additional Bonus Points. 60 for 1st, 55 for 2nd, 50 for 3rd, 45 for 4th, 40 for 5th, 35 for 6th, 30 for 7th, 25 for 8th, 20 for 9th, and 15 for 10th place. Early Starters who finish are allowed but do not qualify for top 10 bonus points.
DNFs do not count as a finish. However, if you are at Pumpkin Holler, and drop down to a shorter distance, you will bet the points provided you finish the shorter distance. You will not be allowed any top 10 bonus points.

More Bonus Points. Our signature race is Pumpkin Holler Hunnerd. Finish the 100K, you get 25 additional bonus points for this ultra. Finish the 100 Mile, you’ll get 50 additional bonus points for your accomplishment.

And even more ways to get points. No race can happen without volunteers, and TATUR has the best volunteers and aid stations in the world. If you volunteer at ANY of the races, you’ll get the points just as if you had run and completed the race and the points keep getting bigger the more races you volunteer for. Some of the leaders in the 2016 standings are there because of all the races where they have volunteered.

Guys compete against guys, Ladies compete against ladies. Age groups do not factor into the points.

One minor change from last year—multi-day events count as one event rather than three separate events. You will get points one time for participating. Now if you do races two or all three days and have top ten finishes, you will get those bonus points.
You MUST sign up via EventBrite to be in the Oklahoma Dirt Trail Series. You're already here, so let's get on with it! It’s free to enter. Pay no money. No credit card needed. It’s free. But sign up EARLY. If you are not on the list, you cannot be awarded points for races before you were added to the list.

Great prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female runners. And I do mean great prizes!!

And stay tuned—there may be another race or two added!!
