Description

The Neonatal Advanced Life Support (ALS) course is designed to provide the healthcare professional with advanced knowledge and skills to allow rapid assessment and management of the compromised newborn. The ALS course is open to those healthcare professionals who have the responsibility of caring for neonates in the delivery room and Neonatal Intensive Care settings. This course is a FOUR day program (August 29, 30 & September 5,6) consisting of lectures, hands on skill stations, and simulation labs. These interactive sessions integrate previous knowledge, new information and learned skills. The total cost includes: 4-day course, skills lab, and materials. Those who are in the ALS RN/RCP role at RCHSD may purchase a flash drive with PPT slides for $20. After completion of this program the Registered Nurse/Respiratory Therapist will be prepared to work in an extended role under the direction of a neonatologist.

Information on the Class:

Prerequisite: Attendees must provide evidence of current Neonatal Resucitation Program(NRP) provider status.

What to Bring: Laptop/computer with USB capabilities.

Continuing Education Units: Provider approved by the California Board of Registere Nursing Provider Number 00111 for 28 Contact hours.
