On Thursday, November 8, 2018 join the California Central Valley Chapter of AFP to celebrate National Philanthropy Day. Help us honor the individuals and organizations who are changing lives, fostering hope, and making a real difference in our community!

  • 8:30 a.m. Continental Breakfast

  • 9:00 a.m. "Making an Artful Ask" development workshop featuring Marcy Heim, CFRE

  • 11:30 a.m. Luncheon Check-in

  • 12:00 p.m. Luncheon featuring special guest speaker, Marcy Heim, CFRE, on the "Power of Joy and Generosity" followed by our presentation of the 2018 NPD awards

*Note on the workshop: Marcy Heim is nationally and internationally recognized as a high-content workshop leader. Her sessions focus on major gift relationship building, creating a mindset for success, and leadership, staff and volunteer major gift motivation and coaching.

About Marcy Heim, CFRE

AFP is grateful to welcome Ms. Marcy Heim as our featured presenter for this year's National Philanthropy Day.

Marcy Heim brings a sincere respect and energy for the transformative effect of philanthropy. She is a trusted authority in the development profession and helps organizations and educational institutions boost their major gift programs through artful, long-term relationship building that dramatically increases fundraising success.

Marcy’s teaching is backed by over 20 years of firsthand experience as senior director at the University of Wisconsin Foundation, where she managed constituency development staff and programs for a college unit with more than 600 faculty and staff, 3,000 students and 40,000 alumni. Her unit experienced twenty-fold giving growth and completed a $50 million campaign under her leadership. In addition, Marcy coordinated the regional development efforts for the UW-Madison in the Pacific Northwest for 10 years throughout the UW’s successful $1.8 billion campaign.

She holds the CASE Crystal Apple for receiving top reviews 10 CASE national conferences focusing on solicitation and she has shared her authentic approach with thousands of newcomers to development. She received the AFP Outstanding Fundraising Professional award and is an AFP Master Teacher.
