Description
The 2018 National Dialogue Awards
Gala Chair: Susan E. Carmel
Please join leadership and friends of the Sustained Dialogue Institute for the Fifth Annual National Dialogue Awards Gala, on Thursday, November 1 at 6:00 pm at the exquisite venue of the United States Institute of Peace in Washington, DC.
We are thrilled to announce the 2018 National Dialogue Award which this year will be given jointly to the remarkable musicians Wynton Marsalis and Igor Butman in recognition of the monumental contributions they have made bridging divides through the arts, including through the use of music and student exchanges to bring young people and others together from across the world.
This gathering is SDI’s flagship annual event celebrating visionary leaders whose accomplishments advance our goal of creating a world where people co-exist peacefully, justly, and productively through dialogue across differences.
In addition to the awards ceremony, this year's gala will also include a musical performance by our honorees!
We are very proud to announce that this year's NDA Gala Chair is Susan E. Carmel. We thank Susan for her unwavering support of the cause of peacebuilding and cultural dialogue: and we appreciate her many efforts to make a difference here and around the world.
The 2018 National Dialogue Award honorees join an illustrious group of past recipients that include Congresswoman Gabby Giffords and her husband, astronaut Mark Kelly; U.S. Associate Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg; Leader and Chief Negotiator for the Northern Ireland Peace Process Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell; and Civil Rights leader and Congressman John Lewis.
