How do you forge the strong connections that help you sustain resilience in recovery? Ana will share her experience of building networks of support to reinforce her resilience while living with Bipolar Disorder II. Exploring the lessons she is learning from her ongoing story of recovery, Ana will share what she views as the foundational elements to creating the authentic and sustainable connections that are necessary in her mental health journey. Join us for a celebratory and inspiring evening as we hear from Ana, recognize our NAMI Austin award recipients and top NAMIWalks fundraisers, and celebrate the successes of 2018!



About Ana

As a member of the Recovery Ambassador Council of Eating Recovery Center and Insight Behavioral Health Center, Ana is passionate about sharing her story to provide hope, reduce stigma, and spread awareness about mental health and mood disorders. Always encouraged by the power of community, Ana enjoys spending time with family and friends experiencing the natural beauty of the world.

Her story was featured on the Mental Note podcast and she consistently meets with patients and families of Insight’s Mood Anxiety and Trauma Related programs in Chicago to share her story of hope. In addition, she works in fundraising and development for a nonprofit that works to improve student outcomes for public high schools in Chicago.
