Masterpiece Performance Center

Launches 2018 Concert Series Celebrating

"Maestro" Rostropovich

Performance by Low Strung - Yale University's all Cello Rock Band

Music will soon be alive in the hills of the Mohawk Valley as the Masterpiece Performance Center (™) officially opens its doors for live performance concerts. Launching its 2018 season on March 31 with a celebration to honor the birthday of “Maestro” Mstislav Rostropovich, “The greatest cellist of the 20th Century”, the event will feature a 90 minute performance by Yale University’s Low Strung orchestra, a 12-cello ensemble that covers all of the best classic rock’n’roll hits.

VIP Admission & Cocktail Hour w/Low Strung - 4:00 p.m.

General Admission - 5:15p.m.

About Low Strung

Low Strung transforms classics of the rock, pop, metal, and blues genres into pieces designed exclusively for the cello. The final product is something that cannot be found anywhere else: music that bursts with the excitement of rock but is executed with the thundering bass and butter-smooth treble of the cello. Their constantly-expanding repertoire spans the gamut from the 1960's to today, from The Who and Led Zeppelin to Lady Gaga and Beyoncé. The sweeping arrangements are also opportunities for unlikely musical encounters such as J.S. Bach meets Amy Winehouse and Beethoven meets The Eagles.
