Event description

Description

The Piedmont East Bay Children’s Choir displays its award-winning commitment to new music in this program of stimulating contemporary works, presented by its premiere performing ensembles. Featured will be the world premiere of Eric Tuan’s work Crossings, which explores the immigrant experience through the words of a Salvadoran-American poet, a Hungarian-American refugee, and a Japanese-American writer interned during World War II.

The program will feature special guests from the UK, the St Catharine’s College Girls’ Choir from the university town of Cambridge, under the direction of Edward Wickham. Music by Meredith Monk, Mark Winges, Pekka Kostiainen, and others rounds out the program.
