Description

The Hampton Roads Leadership Summit is a collaboration of the Office of U.S. Senator Mark R. Warner, Old Dominion University, and six non-profit leadership programs in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia: CIVIC Leadership Institute, LEAD Hampton Roads, LEAD Peninsula, LEAD Historic Triangle, VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads, and Reinvent Hampton Roads. Summit co-hosts include Cox Communications, Port of Virginia, Newport News Shipbuilding, TowneBank, and the City of Hampton.

Program Overview:

  • 9:00am - Coffee

  • 9:30am - Welcome & Opening Remarks (Donnie Tuck, Mayor, City of Hampton; John Broderick, President, Old Dominion University; J.D. Meyers, II, Senior Vice President, Cox Communications Virginia)

  • 10:00am- Keynote Speaker, Jon Acuff

  • 11:30am - Break/Book Signing

  • 11:45am - Panel discussion (Sarah McCoy, Dawna Ellis, Molly Ward)

  • 12:15pm - Dismissal

The Summit seeks to:

  • Encourage and promote continuing community engagement and service by leadership graduates and young professionals.

  • Foster collaboration among the leadership development programs by convening new and past graduates across Hampton Roads on topics of mutual interest.

  • Recruit future leadership program participants.

  • Provide a high value, collective educational opportunity for participants that is beyond the offerings of individual leadership programs.
