Description

Are you looking for talented Latino writers, actors and directors? Then please join us for the 2018 Latino Scene Showcase presented by the National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC) and the Los Angeles Theater Center on October 10th, 2018. The showcase will highlight seven scenes written by Latinos and performed by Latino actors. A reception will immediately follow the performance. Don’t miss out on an afternoon or evening to celebrate and discover Latino talent!

Why Attend the Event?

Did you know:

  • Latino actors made up only 5% of broadcast scripted roles and 4% of scripted cable roles during the 2014-15 television season. (UCLA Bunche Center)

  • In the 2013-14 television season Latinos made up only 2.8% of writers staffed on shows. (Writers Guild of America West)

  • Latinos make up 18% of the U.S. Population, are 23% of moviegoers and have a per capita film attendance of 4.6 times per year, making Latinos the most frequent movie goers of any ethnic group. (MPAA)

  • According to a new study by CAA a film with a cast that is at least 30% non-white outperforms a release that is not truly diverse in opening weekend box office. And on the audience side of things, the average opening weekend for a film that has a “truly diverse” audience is $31 million versus $12 million for films with non-diverse audiences.

Diversity matters, tap into diverse talent at the 2018 Latino Scene Showcase!
