Healing ACEs: From Adversity to Resiliency

What are ACEs and how is it relevant to our communities? There is a critical need across our communities to educate a diverse population of stakeholders (e.g., medical professionals, law enforcement, schools, public agencies, families) about ACEs (adverse childhood experiences) and how trauma manifests itself in the behavior of individuals who have been exposed to ACEs. It is also important for various systems to understand how they can respond in a more compassionate way to individuals with trauma histories. As communities become educated about ACEs and how to mitigate its effects, parents will learn the tools and gain the support needed to help their children heal from trauma while also helping their children thrive.

Join us for this
one-hour educational training examining the ACE study and how to move from adversity to resiliency. This training will take place on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 12 - 1 PM in the Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church located at 6109 Highway 311 in Houma.
