Description

The Governor’s Office on Tribal Relations (GOTR), invite you to participate in the 23rd Annual Indian Nations and Tribes Legislative Day on Wednesday, January 10th, 2018.

In accordance with A.R.S. § 41-2053, the GOTR extends you the opportunity to pay tribute to the history and culture of American Indian peoples and their contributions to the prosperity and cultural diversity of, not only the United States, but the state of Arizona.

In the morning, please join us for a joint protocol session to listen to perspectives shared by tribal leadership. Immediately following the session, a community luncheon will be served on the Senate Lawn where there will be an opportunity to network and meet other leaders from Tribal Nations and Communities from throughout the state. The event concludes with an information session focused on Public Safety: the Impact of Domestic Violence and Sexual assault.

As sovereign nations, Tribal Nations and Communities are relevant and major contributors to local economies and share a unique government-to-government relationship with the State of Arizona and the United States federal government.
