Description

On November 16th, the Georgian Contemporary Film Festival presents the screening of Scary Mother, followed by a conversation with film director Ana Urushadze at the Embassy of Georgia to the United States.

Scary Mother Synopsis:

A 50-year-old housewife, Manana, struggles with her dilemma - she has to choose between her family life and her passion, writing, which she had repressed for years. She decides to follow her passion and plunges herself into writing, sacrificing to it mentally and physically.

The screening of Scary Mother

is a part of the 2018 Georgian Contemporary Film Festival , a week-long event in Washington DC, November 13th-16th.

Embassy of Georgia to the United States in partnership with Georgian National Film Center, Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, George Washington University, Johns Hopkins University and Georgetown University presents a week-long Georgian Contemporary Film Festival from November 13th to 16th. The film festival is themed around contemporary Georgian cinematography and includes a selection of six impressive productions. Conversations with film directors will follow the screenings of Scary Mother, Ara Megobaro, Blind Dates and Dede.

The films will be screened at four locations:

15 November/ House of Others/ Johns Hopkins University/ SAIS Rome Building, Rome Auditorium/ 1619 Massachusetts Ave NW, Washington, DC 20036 / 6:00PM- 9:00PM

16 November/ Scary Mother/ Embassy of Georgia to the United States/ 1824 R Street NW Washington DC / 6:30PM-9:00PM/ followed by a conversation with Ana Urushadze
