The Simon Wiesenthal Center is proud to present the 2018 Dorothy Gardner Adler State of Antisemitism lecture, featuring renowned holocaust academician Father Patrick Desbois.

Father Desbois is the President of the international organization Yahad-In Unum which, for the past 10 years, has interviewed over 5,300 eyewitnesses of the execution of Jews and Romas perpetrated by Nazi units, and has identified more than 2,100 execution sites in Eastern Europe. From 2001-2016, he was the Director of the National Service for Relations with Judaism under the auspices of the French Conference of Bishops. He has also been consultant to the Holy See Commission for Religious Relations with Judaism since 2003.

In addition to conducting research on the victims of the Holocaust, Father Desbois has devoted his life to fighting against anti-Semitism and all forms of mass violence. He has recently launched “Action Yazidis”, an initiative that collects evidence on the Yazidi genocide committed by ISIS.

Father Desbois is the Braman Endowed Professor of the Practice of the Forensic Study of the Holocaust at the Center for Jewish Civilization at Georgetown University. He is the author of “The Holocaust by Bullets: A Priest’s journey to Uncover The Truth Behind The Murder of 1.5 Million Jews” and “In Broad Daylight: The Secret Procedures Behind The Holocaust by Bullets.”
