Description

This conference is a must for any medical professional interested in enhancing your understanding of diabetes and the patients affected by it. This one day conference will highlight medical, nursing, nutritional, and pharmaceutical aspects of diabetes care, as well as technological advances.

Intended Audience

Physicians, Nurses, Dietitians, Diabetes Educators, and any other professionals interested in diabetes management

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this program registrants will be able to:
•Describe clinical recognition and differentiation of types of diabetes
•Explain the initiation of insulin therapy and appropriate titration
•Analyze new and emerging pharmacological therapies for type 2 diabetes
•Identify treatment options for uncontrolled Type 2 Diabetes and understand how the action of treatment impacts the pathophysiology of disease state
•Review clinical interventions and pharmacological therapies to improve A1c and increase patient adherence
•Provide tips and tools to increase clinical and patient success with diabetes therapies
•Describe hypoglycemia and the latest research findings about it
•Explain the role of the diabetes educator in both inpatient and outpatient setting
•Provide a brief synopsis of the history of nursing in diabetes management
