2018 DC Community Heritage Project Grant Workshop
Event Information
Description
A partnership between HumanitiesDC and the DC Historic Preservation Office, the DC Community Heritage Project is designed to provide funding and support to community leaders interested in preserving the history, architecture, and collective memory of their neighborhoods. Successful applicants will propose projects that explore the hidden history of 1968 in Washington, DC. Projects may explore, more broadly, the social, political, and cultural climate during that year, and how it affected and inspired resiliency among various communities across the city.
The DCCHP is local history at a grassroots level, placing control of the narrative in the hands of those who create it. Past grantees have produced documentary films, oral history projects, digital archives, walking tours, and many other types of educational materials. Final products are shared at an annual showcase and symposium in September 2018.
RSVP for this workshop to learn more about the DCCHP, share your ideas, and learn about applying for grant funding. Space is limited, so reserve your seat today!
