This event, originated by The Black Business Consortium of Evanston/Northshore (BBCENS) in 2016, is co-sponsored by The City of Evanston and The First Bank and Trust of Evanston.

During the third guided bus tour of local black businesses, participants will see and learn about businesses located in all nine wards of the City, with opportunities to briefly visit selected locations. They will also learn about the rich history of black businesses dating back to the 1870s, as well as the black presence in Evanston.

The 2018 Black Business Expo & Market Place will offer the opportunity to meet the owners and staff and purchase products and services of black-owned online and brick-and-mortar businesses located in Evanston, Rogers Park and the North Shore. These businesses reflect the diversity of the Black diaspora: African American, Haitian, Jamaican, Belizean, African and many more.

Business owners: To participate in the Business Expo & Market Place, there is a $35 annual membership fee that includes:

Note: Businesses that paid membership dues in 2017 are not being asked to pay in 2018.

2. A table, two chairs and signage that will allow you to promote your business at the Expo. You members of your staff can offer services and share information. Food served will require a City of Evanston permit.
