Event description

Description

A RARE OPPORTUNITY TO HEAR DIRECTLY FROM THE 4 MAJOR OEMS (FORD, GM, HONDA AND TOYOTA) ABOUT:

  • WHAT THEY WANT FROM YOU

  • WHEN THEY WANT IT

  • WHAT NEW REQUIREMENTS THEY WILL HAVE FOR YOU

Please join us for the first Automotive OEM IMDS and CAMDS Workshop at the Diamond Banquet Center at Suburban Collection Showplace.

GM, Ford, Honda, and Toyota will be presenting their International Material Data System (IMDS - www.mdsystem.com) and CAMDS requirements and will welcome supplier feedback regarding submission issues and concerns. Tetra Tech will provide IMDS Training Server logins so that those in attendance can go through a hands-on work session on how to correct common OEM rejections.

In addition to the Automotive OEMs, the International Aerospace Environmental Group (IAEG) will send its leadership (Lockheed Martin and GE Aviation) to present its official material content reporting approach which will affect automotive suppliers who have aerospace business. Aerospace OEMs of course are NOT using IMDS or CAMDS, so automotive suppliers will need to report to aerospace OEMs using other tools and processes.

By attending this Workshop, you will gain the knowledge and experience necessary to minimize or eliminate future rejections resulting in decreased IMDS workload.

OEM REPRESENTATIVES

Ford - Bing Xu and the Ford IMDS Team

GM - Dianne Boss and the GM IMDS Team

Honda - Alissa Yakali and the Honda IMDS Team

Toyota - Mark Bacchus and the Toyota IMDS Team

Lockheed Martin - Margaret Proul

GE Aviation - Mussie Pietros

PURPOSE

  • To facilitate communication between the OEMs and the North American automotive supply chain and answer: “What Does my Customer want from me in IMDS and CAMDS Reporting?”

  • To provide specific hands-on technical training on how to fulfill these OEM requirements with a minimum amount of confusion, delays and avoid IMDS and CAMDS resubmissions due to differing OEMs requirements.

  • To provide a forum for dialogue amongst the OEMs and suppliers regarding how IMDS and CAMDS reporting can be further streamlined and requirements and expectations harmonized across the supply chain.

  • To address ways of efficiently (and legally) reporting material content to non-automotive customers for which IMDS or CAMDS may not be appropriate tools.

  • To answer the question: “What’s coming next?” What OEMs are changing their requirements soon? What upcoming changes within the IMDS system itself will affect your reporting? What new global regulations affecting IMDS reporting are on the horizon?

WHY SHOULD I ATTEND?

  • One free IMDS Training Server License will be provided for your use during the day, in order for you to have a hands-on learning experience. Bring your laptop as a high-speed wireless connection to IMDS will also be provided all day long!

  • OEMs will each discuss their specific IMDS and CAMDS requirements and will be accompanied by an experienced IMDS/CAMDS trainer who will walk you through exactly how to avoid the most common rejections for that OEM, and how to correct any rejections you do receive.

  • Each OEM will allocate 10 min at the end of their session to field your questions about how to successfully submit data to them. Questions can also be submitted anonymously. Answers to questions not addressed will afterwards be posted online for event attendees.

  • If you have more than one OEM end customer, you will find the final session particularly useful as we will map out a process for planning your IMDS data submissions so that you can use the same datasheets to submit to all OEMs rather than having to do multiple submissions customized for each OEM’s requirements.

  • We will also show how you can possibly use the same material content data to report to non-automotive clients and avoid yet another redundant inefficiency.
