2018 Annual Labor and Employment Law Update

Learn about the new laws that may impact you as an employer and take away some best practices to keep your liability in check.

There are new laws and new liabilities in 2018. Learn about what you need to know to reduce potential liability and improve communications, morale, and productivity! This fast-paced and informative seminar will cover the nuts and bolts of handbooks in California. Mr. Jacuzzi will address what you need to know about the new California laws, state and federal regulations, how they affect your employee handbook, and the changes you need to make.

This seminar will provide a review of new California Family Rights Act (CFRA) laws, paid sick leave, new Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) guidelines regarding pregnancy, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), and social media.


About the speaker: Marc L. Jacuzzi

Mr. Jacuzzi is a shareholder of Simpson, Garrity, Innes & Jacuzzi, P.C. He represents employers in civil rights actions in addition to a variety of employment-related claims in various state and federal courts.

Mr. Jacuzzi’s practice also involves employment law counseling. He regularly advises clients regarding all aspects of the employer/employee relationship, including:

-Civil rights/discrimination issues

About the EAC

The Contra Costa County Employer Advisory Council (EAC) is composed of employer volunteers representing a cross section of business and industry. The EAC was developed to promote a stronger partnership between the California Employment Development Department (EDD) and the business community. Its commitment is to assist employers in conducting their business more effectively and efficiently, to provide information on employment-related issues, and to enhance the communincation between the EDD and the private sector.

This EAC is a member of California Employer Advisory Council.
