Event description

Dine Among Specialty Cut Flowers on an American Flower, Herb and Produce Farm

Treat yourself to the experience of a lifetime at the American Grown Field to Vase Dinner in the middle of a 350-acre organic farm at Green Door Gourmet in Nashville, Tennessee, on October 5, 2018. Meet farm operator Sylvia Harrelson Ganier and lead flower farmer Laura Dison and learn about their passion for delicious, nutritious food and providing visitors a beautiful place to experience food, flowers and farming firsthand.

Your Experience

Your dinner experience will include a feast for the eyes thanks to the innovative tablescapes featuring farm-fresh flowers designed by a renowned American floral designer.

You'll also enjoy a multi-course artisanal meal alongside flower aficionados like yourself, while learning about the value of buying and supporting Certified American Grown Flowers.

The Flowers

Hand-selected. Native varieties. Heirloom specialties. When a farm describes flowers in such terms, you know it’s serious about its seed-to-vase mantra.

Flowers at Green Door Gourmet are grown without the use of chemical pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers, encouraging local pollinators and beneficial insects to flourish. And every bloom is raised from seed to flower right there on the farm.

Zinnias, sunflowers, celosia and dahlias are among the 80 flower varieties grown at Green Door Gourmet, and all are raised in support of the farm’s mission to lower the environmental impact of the floral industry and offer a healthy, home-grown alternative to imported flowers.

The Flower Farm

Green Door Gourmet is a 350-acre certified organic farm nestled along the Cumberland River just minutes from downtown Nashville. Local florists and restaurants, along with those hankering for a farm experience just minutes from the city, are fans of the flowers, herbs, fruits and vegetables grown on the farm.

Green Door Gourmet is also home to an on-farm market that offers cooperatively sourced products, including grass-fed meats, honey, jams, dairy and baked goods.

A popular agritourism destination, the expansive farm hosts floral workshops, weddings, educational field trips, corporate events and, of course, farm-to-table dinners.

An Extra Tour with Farm Operator/Owner Sylvia Ganier and Flower Farmer Laura Dison
