Welcome to the Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders Civil Rights Forum. Our goals are to host and facilitate conversations on important Asian Americans and Pacific Islander (AAPI) civil right issues and other critical topics. We want to shatter stereotypes, promote cultural awareness, and build bridges in our community with local, state, and federal government agencies that will help create a dynamic social environment that recognize the advantages of unity and strength in our differences. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Asian American Commission and the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Boston Area Office invites you to this (non-political) forum and hope you will leave this event more empowered to embracing the synergy that will strengthen us. This forum is created by your community for our community.

EEOC - Equal Employment Opportunity Commission

The U.S. EEOC is responsible for enforcing federal laws that make it illegal to discriminate against a job applicant or an employee because of the person's race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information. It is also illegal to discriminate against a person because the person complained about discrimination, filed a charge of discrimination, or participated in an employment discrimination investigation or lawsuit.

AAC - Asian American Commission

The AAC is a permanent body dedicated to advocacy on behalf of Asian Americans throughout Massachusetts. The Commission’s goal is to recognize and highlight the vital contributions of Asian Americans to the social, cultural, economic, and political life of the Commonwealth; to identify and address the needs and challenges facing residents of Asian ancestry; and to promote the well-being of this dynamic and diverse community, thereby advancing the interests of all persons who call Massachusetts home.
