Event description

Description

National Louis University in Chicago is hosting a workshop to assist students in filing the FAFSA early. The FAFSA should be filed as early as possible in order to receive maximum consideration for the Illinois State Monetary Award Program (MAP) Grant. The state of Illinois has not confirmed the deadline and is likely to implement an early 'cut-off' without notice. Don’t miss out on thousands of dollars in free grant money – file early!

Please bring the following items to the workshop

1. FSA ID username and password - Don't have an FSA ID? Create one here: https://fsaid.ed.gov/npas/index.htm

2. Social Security Number

3. Driver’s License Number

4. W-2 Forms for 2016

5. Your 2016 Federal Income Tax Return

6. Your parent's 2016 Federal Income Tax Return

7. Student’s and parent's 2016 untaxed income records such as Social Security benefits, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), welfare, or veterans' benefits records.

8. Student’s alien registration card (permanent resident card) if not a U.S. citizen. International and undocumented students should not complete the FAFSA.

Bring as many of these items as you have. It is more important to file early than completely.

This workshop is open to continuing NLU students as well as students who are considering applyling to NLU for Fall 2018.
