Event Details

The Youth Worker Leadership Conference (YWLC) is an interactive and exciting event for high school students working with youth of all abilities. On Sunday, March 19th, 2017, we will bring together approximately 250 high school-aged youth in the greater New York City area. YWLC will include dynamic speakers, hands-on activities, and workshops.

The YWLC is completely free to attend, though advanced registration is requested and a chaperone must attend with youth under 18. Lunch will be provided! The Youth Worker Leadership Conference is made possible through the generosity of the J.E. & Z.B. Butler Foundation and Ramapo for Children in partnership with the McSilver Institute for Poverty Policy and Research at New York University and ReelAbilities Film Festival

I am not sure what kind of ticket to choose when registering.

Please use ‘Single Tickets’ if you are registering yourself or just one person. Use ‘Group Tickets’ if you are registering more than one person. Use the name of the school or agency you are registering as the group name. If you are a chaperone, make sure to select a 'Chaperone Ticket' as well.

I am a chaperone and I would like to register a group of students. How can I do this?

To register a group of students as a chaperone, please use the ‘Participant Ticket-Group’ option. Select the number of conference participants you are registering and then add a ‘Chaperone Ticket’ for yourself or whoever will be chaperoning the group.

Can I register for workshops beforehand?

All participants can attend three workshops. Once registered for the conference you will receive a link to register for workshops via email. You can also access the workshop registration form at Pre-registration for workshops is mandatory; participants who do not register for workshops will be assigned to workshops.

We strongly encourage chaperones to be active participants at YWLC! Chaperones should attend and actively participate in workshops, which is excellent role modeling for students.
