2017 Winter Catamount Games
What: 2017 Winter Catamount Games (A Xiphos Strength & Conditioning Event)
When: 6:00 AM Friday 24 February 2017 to 1:00 PM Sunday 26 February 2017.
Where: Frozen Head State Park Wartburg, TN.
Why: Building better humans.
This event/workout will consist of 20 athletes and will begin and end at one of the Frozen Head Sate Park Trail heads.
At sunrise, athletes will hike into Frozen Head State Park, navigate the trails as a group/team and perform numerous challenges that will strengthen their bodies and minds. The challenges (both mental and physical) will be individually scored, and points will be awarded to each athlete. At sunset each day athletes will occupy and set up a primitive mountain campsite, eat, rest, perform an after action review of the day's events, and brief the next day’s events. We will return to the trail-head by 1:00 PM Sunday 26 February 2017. The male and female with the most challenge points at the end of the event will receive the Top Cat award.
Prerequisites to attend this event: Athletes must be able maintain a 4 MPH pace with a 35lb ruck over rolling terrain for multiple hours and be able to swim 800m unaided.

Cell phone coverage is very limited in this area. There will be a casualty evacuation plan in place.
Cost of registration includes two meals and Friday/Saturday night camp site fees. All finishers will receive a "Catamount" patch and t-shirt. Registration fee is non-refundable.
The 2017 Winter Catamount games will cover ground from the Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary, the Crab Orchard Mountains, Frozen Head State park and North along the Cumberland Trail.
This event will challenge you physically and mentally. Expect to cover a lot of ground over difficult terrain by foot and perform numerous challenges.
