2017 Wellness Forum
Wed, April 12, 2017, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM CDT
Our modern health and human service systems provide care to millions of people under extraordinarily complicated circumstances—patients have complex issues, costs to provide care rise while budgets shrink, potential legal ramifications are always looming, and competition between providers contribute to stressful settings to care for those in need. Yet, at the core of caregiving remains the interaction between the patient and the caregiver. The Wellness Forum focuses on that relationship and how the caregiver can best infuse their caregiving with compassion.
The conference will provide more than 15 breakout sessions and two keynote presentations: World renowned scholar on the practice of Cognitively-Based Compassion Training (CBCT), Dr. Lobsang Tenzin will present on Cultivating Compassion Using CBCT and Master Coach Heather Woody will present on Creating a Healthy Workplace through Strong and Compassionate Workplace Parnerships.
We hope by attending this event you will be refreshed and inspired to show compassion in all aspects of your life, especially when caring for your patients and clients even under the most stressful conditions.
The Wellness Forum Planning Committee has applied to several professional continuing education granting bodies. We are hopeful that specific sessions will qualify as continuing education hours for:
- Nurses through the Ohio Nurses Association
- Social Workers through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
- Certified Counselors through the National Board for Certified Counselors
