Research shows that individuals who actively engage their brains and bodies on a daily basis are more succesful at managing their personal mental wellness and that's what we want for you. We want you to forget about your worries for a day and enjoy the beautiful city we live in while strengthening your mental wellness.
The Brain Games is a photo scavenger hunt designed to get you off your couch and outside to actively enjoy San Diego's beautiful and historic Gaslamp district while engaging your brain.
We've designed 10 challenging puzzles that you'll need to solve. Sounds simple enough, right? But wait, there's more. You'll also need to find the location of each correct answer and take a photo. Use your smartphone or tablet to research and solve the puzzles. Then use a mapping or GPS app to find the location of each puzzle answer and use your camera to take photos of the correct answers.
The course will have a strict 3 hour course time limit and you will only be allowed to walk, jog or run to each location. Anyone using any method of transporation other than walking, jogging or running will be disqualified.
Although this is a donation based fundraising event for UMTR2ME, registration is required. There will be two types of registration available for this event, individual and team.
Individual Registration is for one person. As an individual you are not able to work with anyone as there is only one individual winner. Each photo must include the correct answer in addition to the extra bib number you will be given at check in.
Team Registration is for no more than two persons. As a team you are not able to work with any other teams as there is only one team winner. Each photo must include the correct answer in addition to one team member.
First place individual and team winners are determined by the number of correct photographs follwed by the fastest time returning and checking into the host location.
Although there is no age limit to participate in the event anyone under the age of 18 must be accompianed by a parent or legal guardian and complete a waiver before particpating in the event. Particiapnts over the age of 18 will be required to provide picture identification and complete a waiver before particpating in the event.
The event will take place rain or shine so please check the weather for the day of the event and dress accordingly. We encourage you bring a bottle of water or a refillable water bottle with you to have with you while on the course.
The host location for this event will be The Commons Bar on 4th Avenue in the Gaslamp district.
Parking is availaible on the street as well as across the street at Horton Plaza. They also have a great menu of food and drinks available for purchase while waiitng for the winners to be determined and announced.

Printed or mobile tickets are preferred. However, we can work around this if you forget your ticket
Can I update my registration information?
Yes, until on-line registration closes at 12:00PM on Friday March 10, 2017
Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?
If we are notified in advance of the event we can make teh adjustment.
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
In short, no. ID presented at the event check in must match the registration information.
