2017 Torch Run, Champions Run for Life Event, VOLUNTEER PAGE
Sun, June 11, 2017, 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM PDT
The Annual Champions Run for Life "Torch Run" event is an Olympic-style relay race full of inspirational and uplifting moments as patient "champions" carry a torch – a symbol of hope for a cure for childhood cancer and serious blood disorders – as they walk, run, wheel or are carried through a one-eighth mile celebratory lap. Then the patient passes the torch to the next "champion," together getting one step closer to the finish line. As this takes place patients are cheered on by family, friends, sponsors and celebrities.
This is a wonderful opportunity for you to participate and join current and former cancer patients in this heart-felt event. This is a free event for you, your family and friends, and is the major fund-raiser for the programs at the Jonathan Jaques Children's Cancer Center. The funds will support Art Therapy, Child Life Programs, Clinical Research, Psychology, Patient Navigation Care, School Reintegration Programs, Sibling Support Group, Social Work and Survivorship Care.
We invite everyone to join this wonderful event. See you there!
