Symposium on Youth

'Music Is All We Got:'Racial Justice, Hip Hop and Youth Activism

POLICE BRUTALITY, EDUCATION, COMMON CORE DEBATES, THE ELECTION OF DONALD TRUMP, BLACK LIVES MATTER, HIP HOP, BULLYING,

YOUTH UNDER-EMPLOYMENT

Chance the Rapper proclaimed "Music Is All We Got." With the recent election of Donald Trump and the possible loss of several rights was Chance right? Regarding racial justice, hip hop and youth activism what should we do? This year's event features an afternoon smyposium for youth and youth workers regarding the issues facing teens. Bring your pressing questions for this lively discussion with local scholars, community activists and teens.

Audience members can both text and raise questions for the panel throughout the smyposium.

Consider bringing your youth group to participate in this innovative and much needed conversation. The symposium is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is required, however.

Also, join us for a youth poetry slam following the symposium. Tickets for the poetry slam can also be purchased through Eventbrite.
