Event Details


  • Stay over 3 nights and eat at Hardin House - a college housing facility. 
  • Discover collegiate life and learn about college prep by exploring University of Texas at Austin and Texas State University.
  • Youth will learn about science careers through an indoor skydiving activity, a lake coastline educational tour and a bat canoeing trip.
  • Develop teamwork and leadership skills through a hands-on lock-in puzzle experience.
  • Learn more about 4-H with activities facilitated by 4-Hers.
  • Swim, shop, and explore Austin.


Kids 15-18 years old of military members from Air Force at any point of service - Active Duty, Reserve, Guard or Veteran.  


$15  (a grant from the Air Force and support from Texas A&M AgriLife Extension make this possible)

Registration fee will cover a t-shirt and bag for youth.

Parents are responsible for getting their youth to and from camp, transportation will only be providing during camp.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the camp?

Youth must be dropped off and picked up from camp. They may also drive themselves.

Are there additional costs?

The free registration includes housing, meals and activities. Youth might want money for souvenirs. 

Who will be chaperoning youth?

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension screens all staff to chaperone youth. Chaperones will pass a background check and be at least 21 years old.


The 4-H/Air Force Youth Camping Program is supported by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, National Institute of Food and Agriculture, 4-H National Headquarters; U.S. Air Force Child and Youth Programs; and (your university) Cooperative Extension 4-H Program through grant funding at Kansas State University under special project number 2016-48696-25889.
