Event description

Description

The Springsted Symposium was established in the early 1990’s as a forum for state and local government leaders from across Minnesota, the Midwest and surrounding states, to listen and exchange views on the major policy, management, finance and development issues of the day.

Attendees are state and local government officials coming from all types of public entities. The participants represent predominately officials in management, finance, human resources and development, both at the professional and elected official levels. Last year, our attendees included local leaders from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North and South Dakota, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, New York, Texas and Montana.

The theme for our 2017 Symposium is “Strategies for 2020.” Individual presentations and panel discussions are designed to provide perspectives and tactics that will help local governments and government agencies as they ‘prepare for the future’ and develop new and creative strategies to realize organizational, financial and developmental success.

A complete agenda, including session topics, speakers and event schedule as well as directions to the University of St. Thomas Anderson Conference Center will be available in the near future.
