The South Carolina Region 1 Science Fair serves public, private, and home school students from the following counties: Anderson, Abbeville, Laurens, Greenville, Greenwood, Oconee & Pickens.
Student projects by acquiring a student ticket. Students will be asked several questions about their projects during this process. PLEASE NOTE THAT STUDENTS ENTERING THE HIGH SCHOOL DIVISION REQUIRE ADDITIONAL FORMS AND DOCUMENTATION. Please visit www.swu.edu/sciencefair for these requirements.
Teachers may register groups of students by registering a group. There is a 10 project limit for each participating school.
Teachers, parents, and other attendees are asked to request a ticket to allow for adequate planning.
Donations - An event like the South Carolina Region 1 Science Fair depends on financial support from those who are interested in STEM education. We never charge any of our participants and wish to include all students in our participating counties. You may make a contribution to this event by choosing this option rather than or in addition to requesting a ticket.
8:00-9:15 – Registration
9:30 – Opening Assembly in Newton Hob Science
9:30 - 11:00 - Judging of projects. Students will rotate from speaking with judges to educational activities with the SWU Science Club.
Judges & students only (no parents or teachers, please) in the Science Project Area for preliminary judging.
Hospitality Room (Nicholson Room, Rickman Library) opens to teachers and parents.
11:15 – The Dining Hall opens for lunch. Participating students receive a complementary lunch ticket
12:00 - 1:30 – Project area is open to the public.
1:00 - Awards in Newton Hobson Auditorium, All are welcome to attend
1:45 - Pick up presentation boards and goodie bags from Founders Hall
