SOMM SUMMIT is an international wine and spirits symposium offering educational presentations and tastings to wine and spirits enthusiasts, sommeliers, wine sales and hospitality professionals. This three-day conference features seminars, networking, tastings and discussions led by prominent professionals, master sommeliers, masters of wine, enology and viticulture professionals, artisan distillers and craft brewers..

Sunday, July 9, 2017 - Program Schedule

10:00am Coffee & Registration

11:00am Assembly: A Taste of Time ~ The Birth of Washington State Terroir

  • Take a cataclysmic journey through time with Dr. Kevin Pogue, Professor of geology at Walla Walla's Whitman College and taste the sense of vintage and place with Walla Walla's College Cellars Director of Wine Making and Instructor of Enology, Tim Donahue.

12:30pm Refresh & Network

  • A chance to meet and greet fellow attendees, check e-mail, refresh and revitalize with light bites, sips, and samples from SOMM Summit vendors.

CLASSROOMS

  • Classroom Semiars feature 8-10 samples tasted in Riedel Stemware, with a template, Agenda, and panelist presentation. Many of the wines poured during the seminars will be available at the Trade Tasting reception

  • The Rhone Rangers has approximately 150 winry members ranging in size from a few hundred cases to several hundred thousand cases and hail from: CA, WA, OR, AZ, MI, NY, VA. All winries that produce Rhone syle wines are welcome.

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

YES. Must be 21 years of age with Valid ID to participate, Must have Valid ID at Check-In. Or be a student enrolled in the SSC Culinary, Hospitality and Wine programs.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

SOMM Summit Shuttle Service will be available at Hyatt House Hotel, Maxwell Hotel and The Grove West Seattle. South Seattle College Campus offers parking. Seattle Metro Bus transit schedules are available here: http://kingcounty.gov/depts/transportation/metro/schedules-maps.aspx


What can I bring into the event?

We suggest you eat a solid breakfast as we only offer light snacksand refreshments twice daily. The Attendee Trade Tasting Reception will feature hosted heavy hors d'oeuvres and some substantial menu items. No Children, Infants, Animals, Perfume, Cologne or Weapons Please.

What's the refund policy?

Full Refunds are Available until May 1. 50% refunds are available until June 1. 25% Refunds are available until July 1. No refunds after July 1.

Yes. Please Bring Your Registration Receipt and Valid ID for age 21 years and older verification.
