Optional Pre-conference Personal Critique Fest
Schedule: Friday, January 20, 2017
2:30 pm - 5:00 pm: Critique Fest will be led by Sands Hall. Joining Sands will be five authors and an agent. Attendees bring a 250-word piece of their writing and 9 copies. Sands will lead a Mini-workshop on "Workshopping" to help everyone understand the purpose and "rules" of critiquing after which small groups of eight will form. Group members will read their piece and receive critique from the group and the instructor.

8:15 - Check in and Meet and Greet with coffee, tea and light snacks in the Auditorium
9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Opening keynote, closing panel discussion, and four tracks of hour-long workshops:
1. The Craft of Writing;
2. Marketing & Publishing;
3. Guided Critique;
4. The Road to Success.
Lunch: Box lunches can be ordered in advance until January 13. All workshop instructors are participating in the Author Roundtable sessions.
Book Launch Party -- 5:30 - 7:00 at The Open Book
Celebrate a day of learning and networking with 3 authors reading from their latest works. Refreshments and open bar available.
WIN! Register early and you can enter the First Sentence Contest - 5 people will win a personally autographed book from one of our author speakers.
Where: Sierra College Campus, Grass Valley, Building N-12.
Doors unlocked for building N-12 at 8:15 a.m. Parking is free on Saturday. If you have registered for Critique Fest, there will be a $3 parking fee.
