The last great tour of 2017

It's time to dig out the arm warmers, wool socks and, of course, the red flannel. It's one last Ride before the snow flies! The Red Flannel Ride by the Lorain Wheelmen will again head out of Oberlin, Ohio, at 9 a.m. on Oct. 29, rain or shine, warm or cold weather.

2017 Red Flannel Ride. Two routes -- a 32-miler and 61-miler -- are available. Both ride along scenic rural roads in Lorain and Erie counties. There are rolling hills.

The details The 43nd annual Red Flannel Metric Century Ride and Half Metric Century Ride departs at 9 a.m. on Oct. 29, 2017, from the Oberlin Community Service Center at 285 S. Professor St. in Oberlin, Ohio.
Check-in and registration begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Oberlin Community Service Center. Parking is limited at registration area, but there is ample parking in the lot in front of the CVS Pharmacy and Ace Hardware on Main Street.

Registration
Advanced registration ($20.00) will be accepted until 6 p.m. on Oct. 21, 2017. Late registration (after October 21 and up to the day of the ride) is $25.00. Registration fee includes map, and two snack stops (100 km). Snacks will be served at the finish.

The Route
The full metric century route will take riders through Mill Hollow for the first snack stop. From there, riders head west toward Milan for a second food stop. Riders then return to Oberlin via a scenic route along country roads. The half-century route takes riders to Mill Hollow for a food stop, and then returns them to Oberlin via Birmingham.

Both rides are fully supported with a SAG for repairs and, if necessary, a ride back to the finish.
