SUPER HERO CAMP FIRE PROGRAM TEAM - UNITE!

Calling all Spark Champions and other members of the Spark League…it's time to convene for our annual Promise to Practice Program Workshop!

As a member of the Camp Fire Program Team, we know your tireless efforts to light the fire within make you ultimate superheroes. Delivering Our Promise to youth across the nation takes big heart and big strength.

This is the first year we will be back-to-back with the National Leadership Conference (NLC), so to help keep CAMP FIRE STRONG, we are having our own SUPER SKILLS TRAINING WORKSHOP to sharpen our super program skills.

Your expertise, insights, and participation are critical to Our Movement's success! Your engagement in the Super Skills Workshop will ensure the quality of every Camp Fire program, build a thriving environment for youth, and support more youth in reaching their full potential. Meet us at “Hero Headquarters” in Kansas City to share your super powers with the rest of our Marvel-lous program team.

We have some super strength coaches flying in to help us sharpen and hone our own super skills:

  • Kiley Bednar, Project Manager and SEL Specialist with the Weikart Center, will share the key experiences that build SEL skills and lead us in assessing our own program SEL strengths and areas for growth. Kiley’s super power is helping people who work with youth do that work better! http://cypq.org/kileybednar

  • Anne Loehr, author and transformational leader, will help us amp up our emotional intelligencea super skill that every leader (and superhero) needs for personal and career success. Named the “Generational Guru” by The Washington Post, Anne’s super power is leveraging the best in each generation. http://www.anneloehr.com/about-anne-loehr/

  • Deborah Gilboa, M.D. (aka “Dr. G”), parenting and youth development expert, will be with us for two full sessions—first to discuss cultural change related to retaining quality youth leaders and volunteers and then to explore how to talk to kids about tough topics. Dr. G’s super power is developing kids with character! https://askdoctorg.com/parenting-youth-development-expert/

  • José González, Founder and Executive Director of Latino Outdoors and Partner of the Avarna Group, will keynote our Friday lunchdiscussing equity and inclusion and their relevance to outdoor engagement and programming. Later, José will lead a session on grappling with unconscious bias to create more inclusive camp experiences. José’s super power is advocacy for diversity and environmental outreach. https://theavarnagroup.com/team/jose-g-gonzalez/

Don’t miss out on learning from these super coaches to help keep #CampFireStrong!
