TDSB's Parent Involvement Advisory Committee (PIAC) invites all TDSB parents/guardians to take part in our conference. Please join us for an opportunity to make connections with other parents/guardians and communities while participating in informative and empowering workshops on a wide range of topics related to parenting, student learning, and school councils.

FREE registration includes: light breakfast, lunch, childminding, translation services, transportation, workshops, keynote address, and information marketplace.

Keynote for the Conference - Dr. Stuart Shanker

An internationally acclaimed speaker, educator, author and the creator of The MEHRIT Centre (www.self-reg.ca) and the Self Regulation Institute

Dr. Shanker has written many influential books and articles including the top selling educational book, Calm, Alert and Learning: Classroom Strategies for Self-Regulation (Pearson 2012).

Dr. Shanker’s five-step Self-Reg model, The Shanker Method®, is a powerful process for understanding and managing stress in children, youth and adults.

Middle Childhood Matters Coalition Toronto

Planning for this conference was done in collaboration with Middle Childhood Matters Coalition Toronto, an active group of concerned social service agencies and community members with a long-standing commitment to working together with parents across the GTA to increase access to high-quality out-of-school programs for all children ages 6-12 in Toronto. Registration is now full. Can I add my name to a waitlist?

Click on the register button to add your name to the waitlist. If a spot opens up, you will be contacted via email with instructions on how to obtain a ticket to the conference.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Yes. Please print a copy of your adult and childmidning tickets and bring them with you to the event. You will need your ticket to sign in and the tickets contain information about your workshop selections for the day.

Do I have to attend the workshops I registered for?

Yes. Most workshops are full and attending a workshop you did not sign up for will take a spot from a parent/guardian who has already signed up for the workshop.

Can I update my registration information?

Please contact conference@torontopiac.com if you require any updates before Monday, November 20th.

What are my parking options for getting to and from the event?

Parking is available in the school parking lot.

IF YOU HAVE ALREADY REGISTERED FOR THE EVENT BUT WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND, PLEASE LOG IN TO EVENTBRITE AND CANCEL YOUR TICKET SO THAT A SPOT WILL OPEN UP FOR A PARENT ON THE WAITING LIST. THANK YOU!
