Announcing Palmetto Bug Stomp! April 7-9, 2017
Last year's Palmetto Bug Stomp is going to be hard to top, but we say, "challenge accepted!"
To push us to ever-greater heights of dance glory, we have Great Bear (Expanded Edition) and ContraForce to provide the grooves. This year we're putting women in charge with two great callers -- Beth Molaro and Sarah VanNorstrand will tell us how to move our feet. As always, Mountain Sound lends us their soundscaping expertise so we can all be enmeshed in sonic trance.
Sign up today while you still can -- last year we sold out fast. Also, we will work to find housing with local dancers on a first-come, first-served basis. That's right: free housing in beautiful Charleston, SC, while supplies last (see below for details).
Early bird prices until February 28th!
Fresh fruit snacks provided throughout the weekend.
"Is this dance gender-balanced?" (Meaning equal numbers of men and women)
By overwhelming demand, The Palmetto Bug Stomp is a gender-balanced event. Sign up with a partner to avoid being waitlisted.
"Help! I need a place to stay!"
That's not really a question, but I'll answer it anyway. Housing is generously provided by local dancers, depending on availability. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
"Can I buy tickets just for Friday or Saturday night dance?"
"I signed up for the dance, but now I cannot attend. Do you offer refunds?"
So sorry to hear that! You sure are missing out! Our refund policy states we charge a $15 cancellation fee for refunds. After March 1, 2017, we will not offer a refund unless there is a waiting list. After April 1, 2017, we do not offer refunds for any reason. For cancellations, contact us at email@example.com.
"Is this open to the public? I have a friend who really wants to try contra."
This is a full-weekend, high-level dance geared toward experienced dancers. Beginners will have a much better time at our bi-monthly Friday dances instead: find us on Facebook or the Charleston Folk website to find out more information.
“How excited should I be about this dance?”
Any level of excitement is appropriate, and I'm not trying to tell you how to feel, but did you see that line-up? Holy Cow! I am gobsmacked just thinking about it.
Don't take my word for it, check out this video! (All deserving and respectful credit goes to David Frantz, who does a fantastic job!)
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
You do not, but it speeds up the sign-in process if you do. (We can also scan your ticket from your smart device, so that's a paper-saving option.)
Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
All relevant/irrelevant questions about 2017 Palmetto Bug Stomp can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org. See you on the dance floor!
