Greetings potential Oregon Scholastic Art Awards juror!
This is an invitation to be a juror for the 2017 Oregon Scholastic Art Awards. Either you have juried for us before, or your name was recommended to us. We believe that based on the recommendations you will make an excellent juror for the 2017 Oregon Scholastic Art Awards.
Each juror will be fed scrumptious carbohydrates, and caffeinated beverages in the morning. A delicious lunch at high noon, as well as more snacks than you can imagine. Jurors will be paid $25.00 for their time and efforts, which they can choose to donate back to the Oregon Scholastic Art Awards if they would like.
As a juror you also receive the warm and fuzzy feeling that you helped advance the hopes of student artists in our state! You WILL leave inspired and amazed at the work the students create.
What: We have gone statewide this year! Yes, it's true, you will be jurying work from 7th - 12th grade young artists from around the state! The Oregon Scholastic Art Awards is a program that honors, celebrates and exhibits art work from 7th - 12th grade student artists.
Who: Retired art teachers, artists, Scholastic alumni, professors, admission directors, gallery directors and employees...if you love art and teens you are the person for us!
When: The judging process will take place on Saturday, January 14th or Sunday, January 15th or Monday January 16th, times and dates vary depending on what category you choose to jury.
Where: The judging process will take place at Lakeridge High School in Lake Oswego, OR 1235 Overlook Drive.
How: So how do I sign up!
Please only sign up for one category, for the whole weekend.
- To the right is a large green link that says REGISTER.
- Find the category you are interested in being a juror for.
- Choose 1 in the drop down for the category you have selected.
- The system will send us a notification with your information and category selection.
You will notice that there are several categories that we say Round One or Two, those are large categories that we need many, many jurors for, again, please just sign up for one category on one day. Middle School jurors will be looking at work from all categories from 7th - 8th grade students. If you want to see some fresh work this is the category for you!
*In the interest of transparency, please note that the weekend the jury process takes place is a three day weekend. If you are selected as a juror and make the commitment, thousands of student artists are relying you to attend the judging. If you are unsure if you can attend please consider judging on another year.
