The State Health Plan will once again be offering numerous meetings across the state in an effort to educate Medicare retirees on their 2017 State Health Plan options.
Beginning Jan. 1, 2017, the State Health Plan will no longer offer Humana Group Medicare Advantage Plans. However, it will continue to offer the UnitedHealthcare (UHC) Group Medicare Advantage Plans and the Traditional 70/30 Plan administered by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina. If you are currently enrolled in a Humana Group Medicare Advantage Plan, for 2017 you will be automatically enrolled in the UHC Group Medicare Advantage Base Plan unless you choose another option during Open Enrollment. Open Enrollment will take place Oct. 1-31, 2016.
These meetings will offer an overview of the 2017 plan options, highlight benefit changes and will have representatives available to answer your questions. Please take the time to locate an outreach event closest to your home, and be sure to mark it on your calendar.
Make sure to register soon, as seating is limited. Temperatures may vary at each venue, so be sure to bring a light jacket.
