2017 On-Farm Dinner No. 20 Featuring Chef Mike Florea and Dylan Jones
Sun, November 5, 2017, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM EST
Carriage House Farm presents its farm-to-table dinner series featuring a wide selection of Cincinnati's finest chefs. Each dinner will reflect the personality of the chef(s) and the seasonality of the ingredients available on the farm. This, unique, final dinner of the season will enjoy an intimate open air-dinner of multiple courses on Carriage House Farm's dinning terrace at the new barn location. Chefs will prepare the food on a wood-fired oven and grill in full view of the guests.
This dinner, No. 20, will feature mid-Autumn items, prepared by Chef Mike Florea and Dylan Jones of Maribelle's Eat + Drink.
Is the food served 100% from Carriage House Farm?
In most cases, all the produce is from our farm. Most animal proteins however, are not, though they are often times sourced from neighboring farms or farms that we have close ties with. For 2017 events any dinner featuring chicken, rabbit, or eggs will be sourced from the farm as we expand into ranching.
Do you regularly supply the chefs that work on your farm?
With rare exception yes, we do. The entire dinner series is, in a way, a “local label” bringing the relationship we have with these chefs full circle allowing guests a chance to see where their food comes from.
Is it organic?
Tehcnically, it is not. We are not certified even though we do follow organic practices.
Can the chef accommodate food allergies?
In most cases the chef, if given appropriate time, can plan around food allergies. Please let us know immediately, when tickets are purchased, if there is a food allergy.
Will you provide a menu to guests for the event?
We try to do this within 72 hours of the event. It is not something we gaurantee as menus change and not all chefs provide a menu prior to the event.
What is appropriate dress for these events?
We call it farm casual. Carriage House Farm is a working farm, because of this we recommend not wearing heels. The dinner is open air and as the seasons vary so does the dress. Wear what you feel comfortable in. Hats are welcome!
Is the dinner site handicap accessible?
Unfortunately it is not. We can provide transportation to the site from the parking area if a guest is partially immobilized or impaired but the restroom and access to an from is not wheelchair friendly. We hope to change this with a new site opening late of 2017/beginning of the 2018 season.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
While alcohol is not served we recommend the age of guest be 21 or older.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
No pets are allowed. No smoking is permitted during dinner or at the table.
What if something comes up and I cannot attend? Can I gift my tickets to someone else?
You can refund your tickets at any time up to 72 hours before the event. Keep in mind that many of these dinners are weeks, often a month, in planning. You can give your tickets as a gift, just please notify us and the new guests so that our pre-dinner communications go to the correct person.
What if it rains?
On rare occasion we cancel events due to rain or violent weather events like highland and thunderstorm. Part of the appeal to the dinners is the open air dinning, but unfortunately this means we are beholden to the whims of mother nature. In the event of a cancellation all money will be refunded via Eventbrite.
How do I find out about future dinners?
Join our mailing list. All attendees are automatically added to our event email list which also includes a monthly update on what is going on on the farm. Any guest can opt out of this email by unsubscribing via Mailchimp.
Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
If you have any questions regarding this dinner or the series, please contact Richard Stewart by phone (513) 967-1106 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
