From Nannypalooza.com, National Nanny Training Day is an event to bring together nanny related businesses and organizations across the country to provide quality nanny training opportunities to local nannies. Why is this so important? Because training and education of caregivers is one of the most important factors associated with the quality of child care they provide. 2017 National Nanny Training Day Seattle will offer local nannies four learn today, use tomorrow workshops, networking opportunities, a box lunch and of course FUN!
Doula vs Newborn Care Specialist (NCS): "What's the 411?" Kimberly Bepler of ABC Doula Services and NCS Malia Hudson of Heaven Sent Newborn Care will share the ins and outs of becoming a doula or Newborn Care Specialist and how the education can benefit you as a nanny or open a new career path.
"Overcoming Your Stumbling Blocks" with Tiffany Martinson of On-Call Nanny: Do you have something in your work history thay you struggle to explain? Do you have a negative reference? Are you too young, too old, overweight or have a pre-existing medical condition? All of these examples could potentially be a stumbling block when searching for your next position. Tiffany will offer advice of how to let yourself shine and be the candidate the family wants to hire!
"Why Waldorf" with Seattle Waldorf School: An educator from the Seattle Waldorf school will be joining us to explain the philosophy of Waldorf and how to incorporate it in everyday activities with the kids.
"Meal Planning and Execution" with Kiki Holley from the Starling Agency: From finding recipes to freezing meals, Kiki walks us though where to find the best recipes, organizing a shopping list and preparing meals.
What does my ticket include?
Entry to a full day of learning and networking, event folder, boxed lunch and at least one raffle ticket (NWNA members get three raffle tickets.
What name will be on my name tag and Certificate?
The name that is associated with your Paypal or credit card is the name that will be used. Please email or message us if you wish to use a different name. If your employer(s) purchase your ticket, you will need to let us know the attendees name.
What kind of lunch is provided?
Ingallina's Box Lunch offers a variety of sandwiches, salads and wraps. Sandwich and wrap options include Tim's Chips, fresh cut fruit and a cookie. Salad lunches include a roll, butter, fresh cut fruit and a cookie. Special meals for those with dietary restrictions are available with some limitations. Please message us if you require a special lunch.
Can I become a member of the NWNA to get a cheaper ticket?
Yes and it's easy, too! All you have to do is join the Facebook Group for Northwest Nanny Association. To do this, first go to facebook.com/groups/nothwestnanny/, request to join. To be added as a member, you must also PM admin Rachel Crittenden. Be on a look-out for a reply from her and follow her instructions.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
All attendees must be at least 16 years old. No ID required.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
Since your cell phone will need to be turned off during the presentations, we recommend you bring note-taking supplies: pen and paper. A water bottle is also strongly recommended. If you might be interested in purchasing extra raffle tickets, please bring small billed cash.
Please do not bring any children or pets. We love them dearly but in order to minimize distractions at this professional event, we must insist that they be left at home.
What is the dress code for this event?
2017 National Nanny Training Day Seattle is a casual event. Jeans, t-shirts and tennis shoes are fine. Please dress comfortably. A light sweater is recommended if you tend to get cold.

Is my registration/ticket refundable or transferable?
All ticket sales are non-refundable but fully transferable. You must email us to tranfer your ticket.
Can I update my registration information?
No. If you feel that something must urgently be altered, please email us and we will do what we can to help.
Do I need to bring my ticket to get in?
NO, we will have a list of attendees. Save the trees! No need to print your ticket.
