Event description

Welcome to the 2017 MSOG, Inc. Annual Meeting and Program - Our Identity on Display!

Featured Speakers:

Maureen Taylor, The Photo Detective.

Maureen Taylor is an internationally recognized expert on historic photograph identification, photo preservation and family history research. The author of several books, scholarly articles and online columns, she appeared on The View and The Today Show for completing Meredith Viera’s family tree. She has been featured in numerous publications including The Boston Globe, The New York Times, Better Homes and Gardens, and was dubbed “the nation’s foremost historical photo detective” by The Wall Street Journal.

Michael J. Hall, Deputy Chief Genealogical Officer at FamilySearch.

The Vision of “FamilySearch” is well aligned to this year’s theme on identity: “Learning about our ancestors helps us better understand who we are—creating a family bond, linking the present to the past, and building a bridge to the future.” The enthusiastic Mr. Hall is joining us from Utah and will discuss how he identifies with Massachusetts (he is a proud member of the Bristol Chapter) and will give us a glimpse into his new book in the throes of completion.
