Description

SAIL WITH US!

Voyage out onto the Delaware River aboard the Sigsbee, a Chesapeake Bay skipjack, operated by The Living Classrooms Foundation in Baltimore. The Sigsbee was built in 1901 and was originally used for 88 years to dredge oysters. In 1990, she was sold to the Living Classrooms Foundation, where students and shipwrights completely rebuilt her. Today, she sails the region teaching students and the public about the aquatic environment, history, and economic importance of local waterways.

Our member sail departs Friday, October 20th at 4 pm. Boarding takes place at the Museum’s boat basin and seating is very limited. Bring a picnic, help the crew hoist Sigsbee’s majestic sails and learn about this ship’s legacy and restoration as we explore the historic Delaware on this two- hour sail.

Tickets: $20 Adult Members (18+); $15 Youth Members (6-17); $25 Non-Member Adult Guests (18+); $20 Non-Member Youth Guests (6-17).

For more information please contact Meggan Kucinskas, Assistant Director, Membership and Public Engagement, at 215-413-8626 or mkucinskas@phillyseaport.org.
