The McDonald’s Houston Children’s Festival is the largest children’s festival in America!
Two days of games, circus acts, rides, food, beverages, and entertainment for all ages centered in downtown Houston. Created 28 years ago by Child Advocates as an avenue to create awareness and funding to help the neglected and abused children of Houston.
Over 5.4 million, amazing dollars have been raised for the organization through the annual two days of children activities.

The MCDONALD'S HOUSTON CHILDREN'S FESTIVAL, presented by Baker Hughes and benefiting Child Advocates, Inc., is located in the heart of downtown Houston in the area surrounding City Hall, Hermann Square, Houston Public Library Plaza, Sam Houston Park, and Tranquility Park.

There is plenty of parking near the Festival with the choice of street level, surface lots, parking garages or underground parking. Below are several of the parking options near the Festival. Please note that the Festival has no control over parking fees in either public or private parking lots.

What time is the event?
10:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes. We accept credit cards, debit cards, and cash at the Admission Booths and Coupon Booths.
Do you have ATMs on-site?
Yes. There is an ATM located next to each Coupon Booth & each Admission Booth.
Are there any additional costs other than the admission fee?
All stage performances and the majority of entertainment are included with admission. There is a small fee for some games and rides, ranging in price from 1 - 6 coupons.
Can I leave The Festival and re-enter without paying?
There is no re-entry into The Festival.
Can we bring in food & drinks? How about for our infant child?
As this event is a fund-raiser for Child Advocates, outside food and drinks are not allowed inside the Festival gates. However, special food for infants and toddlers is allowed.
Can we bring strollers, wagons and/or wheelchairs?
Yes! All areas of the Festival are accessible for strollers, wagons and wheelchairs.
Can we bring pets?
Sorry, the Mayor’s Office of Special Events regulations prohibit pets (including dogs, amphibians, reptiles and snakes) from attending. Assistance dogs are allowed.
Any rules we should know about?
To ensure a safe, enjoyable event, the following items should be left at home: beverages, food, alcoholic beverages, ice chests/coolers, bikes, in-line skates, skate boards, grills, weapons, fireworks, umbrellas and laser pointers. Food for infants and special dietary concerns are excluded.
Do you issue rain checks?
No rain checks are given. We are open rain or shine, and all acts will be performed as scheduled unless conditions threaten the safety of the participants and festival guests.
Is there public transportation to the festival?

How do I pay for Market Vendor purchases?
There are a number of Market Vendors throughout the festival selling fun, quality merchandise. Festival coupons are NOT accepted for market purchases. Each market vendor determines what form of payment they will accept.
