Description

General event information: See the FAQs below.

Our 2017 guest speakers:
Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn were the first married couple to win a Pulitzer in journalism for their reporting on China’s Tiananmen Square democracy movement. Nicholas and Sheryl have been tireless champions of equality for women globally while also defending the rights of the underserved and fighting racial prejudice. Their co-authored bestseller, Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide, has sparked activism and ongoing awareness of the marginalization and mistreatment of women.

Sheryl is a highly successful business executive, best-selling author, and one of Newsweek’s “150 Women Who Shake the World.” Nicholas is an Op-Ed columnist for The New York Times. He has over 1.5 million Twitter followers and was named one of seven “Top American Leaders” by the Harvard Kennedy School and The Washington Post. We are thrilled to welcome them as they share their insights.

As always, Girls Inc. girls will also share the spotlight.

FAQs

What is the difference between seating/price levels?

Patron/Priority seating is located in front of Regular/General seating. Reservations can be made in any quantity but tables are limited to 10 guests. There are corporate levels available that include a table of 10 and additional benefits - visit girlsincomaha.org to download a corporate/sponsorship form.

How can I be sure I'll sit with my friends/family?

Seats reserved via a single transaction/payment will automatically be grouped together. Requests to sit with/near others attending under separate reservations should be sent to Shannon at sdunning@girlsincomaha.org or filled in the space provided on the order form. We will try to accommodate, but cannot guarantee your request will be possible.

I have dietary considerations. Can I make specific meal requests or bring in my own food?

The catering company offers the following 2 meal options: a) a regular/standard meal; or, b) a vegan/vegetarian meal/gluten free meal. When making your reservation, list each attendee's first & last name and meal preference or email that information to Shannon at sdunning@girlsincomaha.org by Oct. 31st. Any reservation not specifying a meal will be served the regular/standard meal.

Do I have to bring a printed ticket to the event?

No. It is a reservation only. Stop by the check-in table at the event for your table seating assignment.

Is it ok if the name on my reservation doesn't match the person who attends?

Reservations are transferable to another person. If you transfer your reservation, please email the change to Shannon at sdunning@girlsincomaha.org in advance. Substitutions after Nov. 3rd will need to check-in under the original attendee's name.

What's the refund policy?

No refunds. If you are unable to attend or transfer the reservation to a friend, let us know and we will convert your full payment to a tax deductible donation.

What can/can't I bring into the event?

No flash photography. No outside food or drinks.

What are my parking options at the event?

Standard CenturyLink event parking applies.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Contact Shannon at sdunning@girlsincomaha.org.
