The Midwest Pantry Local Food & Gift Trade Show feature hundreds of store-ready, licensed, insured, locally sourced wholesale SKUs. The 7th instance of Minnesota's own home-grown trade show is again the largest local-only wholesale event of it's kind in the nation.
Consumer demand for quality locally sourced products continues to surge, yet finding store ready products available in wholesale quantities continues to be an expensive and time consuming task for buyers. It is also very time consuming and often frustrating process for producers to meet and present their products to buyers. The Local Food & Gift Trade Show is a one day event designed to solve this problem for both buyers and producers. Midwest Pantry curates the businesses and products featured at the Local Food & Gift Trade Show to create a fun, inviting and high energy environment for doing business.
We are looking for licensed and insured producer that make quality local products. We seek both established local businesses looking to grow their business and stay in front of buyers, as well as producers launching new products or new businesses in the wholesale market. In 2017, in response to buyers demand, we are especially interested in finding 1) locally produced frozen products, and 2) locally produced products that are available in commercial sizes to meet the growing demand from restaurants, delis and food trucks.
Each of our seven Trade Shows have experienced increases in both the number of local products available, and the number of buyers and attendees from across the region and country. The 2017 Local Food & Gift Trade Show will be no exception as we open up for the first time up to 2 producers per category. We recommend applying early, as we still anticipate needing to turn down applicants in popular categories.
Midwest Pantry also offers many educational and networking events throughout the year to help companies be ready to take advantage of the opportunities at the Local Food & Gift Trade Show. Please visit www.midwestpantry.com for more information or email firstname.lastname@example.org with specific questions.

How do buyers that attend find out about the Local Food & Gift Trade Show?
This will be our 7th Local Food & Gift Trade Show, so there is word-of-mouth exposure in the buyer community that have attended previous events as well as our extensive earned media. Midwest Pantry personally and directly invites over 2,500 buyers from our own network, we place online and print ads in industry publications, and do snail mail mailings as well.
We also have found the most successful producers at our events have taken the time to invite their network of buyers, so we provide and encourage the attending producers with information and tools to make it easy for you to promote your attendance at our event.
What kind of buyers attend the Local Food & Gift Trade Show?
5% from large and mid-sized grocery store chains
10% co-ops, and distributors/reps
10% restaurants, delis, food trucks
75% from small-to mid-sized independently run food, specialty & gift stores
As food producers ourselves, we appreciate this diverse mix of buyers. The attending buyers from larger chains tend to browse searching for what is on trend and the next big thing, whereas the smaller independent stores & co-ops come with the ability to place orders on the spot.
Will there be a walk-through of the event space?
Yes, Wednesday, March 8th at 6pm-6:45pm. This is your chance to review the layout of the event space, get information on the loading-in and loading-out procedures.
All new producers to the Local Food & Gift Trade Show are required to attend this walk-through.

Due to limited space and respect for your neighbors we suggest one person per half table, and two persons per full table. We encourage you to rotate staff at your table throughout the day, so these suggestions are for the number of people at your table at any given time.
Is there age limit to enter the event?
To promote a friendly, professional atmosphere, we encourage adults only for both producers and buyers.

There are 3 parking lots adjacent to the Solar Arts Building. We will designate 2 of the lots for buyers, and 1 of the lots for producers. There is also street parking available.
