We're looking for a good mix of talented people from a variety of backgrounds - both students and non-students - to be part of our DC, Maryland and Virginia LeadingAge Hackfest, where you will use technology to solve challenges facing older adults.
The Who: You
Like most hacking events, we’re looking for: Front-End Developers • Back-End Developers. However, unlike most hacking events, we want: Designers • Marketers • Gerontologists • Business Experts • Clinicians... Or anyone passionate about the field of aging.
Each team will be assigned an aging services professional as a coach, and an older adult as potential user.
This year, we'll be at the campus of Asbury Methodist Village from March 31 - April 1, 2017. (please note the event venue will be closed from midnight-6am each night/morning, however, you may continue hacking elsewhere during that time.)
Please apply as part of a team. If you do not have a team but would like to participate, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Remember, not everyone who applies will be accepted. AND, you must be 18 years of age to participate. Read more here
The application period closed on February 15, 2017 at 11:30pm.
We'll give you a thumbs up or a thumbs down about your application by February 28, 2017.
Your deposit is 100% refundable, which means we'll give it back to you once you actually show up at Asbury Methodist Village and participate in our 2017 HackFest. If you don't show up, we will probably spend it.
As always, please read the Hackfest official rules and legal disclosures.
