2017 Kings Gap Time Trial

Are you a cyclist who likes to challenge yourself? Then the Kings Gap Time trial may be the perfect event for you! The 2017 individual Hill Climb Time Trial sponsored by the Harrisburg Bicycle Club is for amateurs and elite cyclists alike! Also, there will be lots of fun prizes, refreshments and camaraderie, too!
The event is open to riders age 15 and up. All types of bicycles are allowed, including; road, touring, mountain and hybrid. (Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.) This is NOT a sanctioned USA Cycling race event.
The course will be held on the winding 3.5-mile, asphalt-paved Kings Gap Road. The start line will be located just south of the entrance to the Pine Plantation Day Use Area. The finish line will be located at the Cameron /Masland Mansion at the top of the mountain - elevation 1280 feet. The gradient of the course is a gradual 5 percent to the top of the mountain. The course offers a fantastic road surface with plenty of shade and breath-taking views of Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
*Event will be held RAIN or SHINE!
*Helmets are required
*All bikes must have a free wheel rear hub FOR THE DESCENT
*Bicycles must have two working brakes
