The KC MLK Tournament Recruiting Combine will be held on January 13th at the Kansas City Convention Center (Hall D) and is open to any high school age player, regardless if they are participating in the KC MLK Tournament or not.
The Recruiting Combine will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and will be promoted to every NCAA Division II, Division III, NAIA and Junior College Volleyball program in Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, Colorado, Arkansas and Louisiana.
PLEASE NOTE - The 13th of January is the last day of the NCAA Division I Recruiting Quiet Period, which means no DI programs may attend the Combine, but Championship Combines will make available the player contact information for any NCAA DI school which requests it.
Volleyball players will be divided by position and graduation year to allow attending college coaches to effeciently evaluate them. 10+ courts will be used at the KC Convention Center, with each court having a "court coach", to allow players to showcase their skills sets to the college coaches. The court coaches will put the players through volleyball drills within thier specific positions, along with combining positions to illustrate group skill sets. The focus will be on position and group play, for easy evaluation by college coaches.
Parents are not allowed into the Combine, per the request of the college coaches - This allows the players to focus on skills and the college coaches to focus on evaluations.
