The Innovative Schools Summit Orlando will host 4 conferences in one location:

Girl Bullying & Empowerment Conference

For the past 10 years, the Girl Bullying Conference has brought focus to the problem of relational aggression among girls. Quite naturally, many of the field-tested interventions presented at this unique gathering encourage friendship, sisterhood and building other types of supportive relationships – hence the added emphasis oo female empowerment.

Now in its 11th year, the Girl Bullying & Empowerment Conference will be more accessible – with locations in Orlando and Las Vegas. This unique gathering will help counselors, principals, teachers, social workers and other professionals understand the latest research and field-tested strategies designed to address relational aggression and to build positive, supportive relationships among girls.

Counseling Strategies & Resources Conference

Discover New Tools & Strategies for Reaching & Teaching Students K-12

The Counseling Strategies & Resources Conference will be held at the Caribe Royale Orlando March 3-5, 2017. This stimulating two-day event is being held in Orlando, and brings together well-known featured presenters.

This conference will also feature best practices from educators and other professionals working with youth. Some programs are research-tested, while others are promising, innovative approaches created by practicing professionals to help them better connect with different types of students.

School Discipline Conference
Enhancing Student Success While Insuring Equity Drives Renewed Focus on School Discipline & Classroom Management

Many facets of school life have been transformed over the past two decades. Curriculum has changed dramatically, technology continues to be enhanced, and assessment has become far more rigorous. Yet, in many schools, discipline remains much the same.

Traditional exclusionary “consequences” – office referrals, in-school suspensions, out-of-school suspensions and expulsion – have the unintended result of removing the most academically at-risk students from the classroom. Citing current research in both the U.S. and Canada, advocacy groups and government agencies have supported an end to exclusionary and zero-tolerance policies, saying they are applied unfairly to minorities and student with special needs.

In recent years, schools have begun moving toward progressive discipline, restorative practices, PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions & Support) and other alternative methodologies. But which of these systems actually works? And how can they be successfully implemented?

Now in its sixth year, the School Discipline Conference provides a forum where educators can gather information on various approaches and philosophies.

It will assemble internationally recognized experts and speakers and will feature evidence-based programs as well as promising new approaches developed by practitioners.
